The 1920 Federal Census Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., PA, District 109, page 252B records Verna Kramer living as an "inmate" in the Children's Industrial Home. She is born in Pennsylvania however the place of birth of her parents is simply recorded as unknown, born in the U.S. This is probably the Verna K[C]ramer who will marry William Kile. Two other "inmates" include George (8) and Loyd (6) Kramer, possible brothers to Verna.

According to Bill Kile, Verna lived in a nursing home in Lewisburg after her husband's death. She suffered from parkinsons and was eventually moved to Harrisburg Hospital where she died.

Verna A. Kile, 92, of Woodlawn Center of Nursing, Fairview Township, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.

Born May 5, 1909 in Little Rock, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Herman R. and Carrie Estellea Reichert Kramer and the widow of William D. Kile.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg.

Mrs. Kile is survived by a son, William D. Jr. of Waleska, Ga.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Myers Funeral Home, 37 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Donald J. Ciampa officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church, 135 W. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
