bullet  General Notes:

The 1930 Federal Census records William W. [D.] and Verna Kile are living on 14 South York Street in Mechanicsburg, PA.

William's brother, Fred Kile, related in an email Dec. 11, 2003:
"Regarding William, yes that's what he went by, he spent many years as a police officer in M-burg. He died on Good Friday 1987, having a massive heart attack outside of church. Verna was a Cramer, but from a different Cramer family [than grand mother Missouri Cramer Keil]. Was unaware she had died [Verna], lost track of her over the years. Will try to condense a story which I know only sparse details. I don't know their ages or year thay were married but evidently Dad objected for some reason, possibly they eloped anyhow on their wedding night Dad went to wherever they were staying and dragged Bill out of there and somehow forced him home. How things were resolved I know not. The story got wide attention and the local paper ran a story about it, causing embarrassment and some humiliation among the three. I would really like to know all about it. Verna never forgave Dad and never shared much care for any other Kiles. She became mental later and I do know first hand about that as I and my family suffered abuse from her.
They had a son also a William (not a Junior), first married to a Patrica White, had at least two sons, eldest named David, divorced and married again, last I knew he lived in Indianappolis."
