I was able to have a telephone conversation with Bill Kile on March 20, 2007 where he related the following:
His parents had a stormy relationship ... Verna somewhat manic/depressive [my words] ... he used "good days and bad" to describe her. He indicated that his father was abusive: one time he told Bill that "You are the dumbest son of a bitch I have ever seen". That has stayed with Bill all of his life and is hurtful to this day. His mother vacillated between sympathy for him and support for his father.
Bill told me that his mother and father remained married for life and sometime after his father's death, his mother lived in a nursing home in Lewisburg, PA. Bill married Patricia White, a classmate in school, much to his parents disapproval. Bill Kile told me that his parents did not approve of Patricia. One reason was that they thought of her as "boy crazy".
Bill and Patricia had 5 children but did not remain married. Bill's father somewhat mellowed and tried to have a relationship with his grand children. Bill worked in PA then moved to Indianapolis and worked at the YMCA. Bill remarried to Dorothy (Dottie) and when Dottie's company was bought out she was offered a job in Waleska, GA. They moved there ca 2000 where they remain today.
It is of interest that the SSDI records his mother's last known residence as Waleska, Cherokee Co., Georgia. That is because Bill was taking care of her finances at the time of her death. This was also the clue that lead me to the whereabouts of Bill.

Bill also related that his mother's family included:

These facts enabled me to extend the family line ...
