Madeline Elizabeth Myers Hiatt, 88, of Westminster, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Lorien Taneytown.
Born on July 20, 1923 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Jesse David, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Logue Myers. She was the wife of William Glenn Hiatt, her husband of 48 years.
She moved to Smallwood when she was one year old and was a lifetime resident of Carroll County. She was a graduate of Western Maryland College and retired from teaching from Francis Scott Key High School. She was a lifelong member of Deer Park United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter and son-in-law Mary Elizabeth Hiatt and Jeff Jason Leonard of Centreville, VA; brothers Howard Grant Myers of Westminster and Jesse David Myers, Jr. of Frederick; granddaughters Sarah Beth Leonard and Cassie Rae Leonard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Deer Park United Methodist, 2205 Sykesville Rd., Westminster (Smallwood), with Rev. Dr. Mary Jo Sims and Rev. Dr. Timothy Tennent officiating. Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery.
