The 1900 Federal Census for Durham, Durham Co., NC, District 32, page 190A, dated June 14, 1900 records the widow Susanah Hinton (Aug 1837 - NC/NC/NC) living with her son R. H. Hinton (June 1866) and his wife Lula (March 1874) and children Leona Hinton (June 1894). R. H. [Robert] and Lula have been married for 10 years and have had 1 child.

The 1910 Federal Census for Durham, Durham Co., NC, District 36, page 190A, dated April 16, 1910, page 142B records the widow Mrs. Hinton (71 - NC/NC/NC) living with her widowed son-in-law C. J. Hulan (45) and his children C. J. Jr. (13), Alvera (10), Ruth (8), and Edith (7). This Mr.s Hinton is our Susanna Hinton in that the 1900 census reveals the family with the mother, Cora Hinton, who appears to be Susanna's daughter [see the 1880 census above]: The 1900 Federal Census for Durham, Durham Co., NC, District 31, page 159BA, dated June 4, 1900, records Charles J. Hulin (July 1864) with his wife Cora Hulan (June 1870) and children Charles (March 1896), Albert [Alvah] (Oct 1897), and Milbrey (June 1899). Charles and Cora have been married for 9 years and have had 3 children.
