The 1900 U.S. Census, Pennsylvania, Berks Co., Reading, ED# 53 , page 195B records Warren (April 1874) and Ella May (October 1876) Yocum with children Harry Earl (Dec 1894) and Mary Harriet (March 1898) living at 932 Cherry Street. Also in the household is Warren's brother Frank J. Yocom (Sept 1871). Warren is a teamster and Frank is a grocery clerk.

The 1910 U.S. Census, Pennsylvania, Berks Co., Reading, ED# 54 , page 65A records Warren C. (36) and Ella M. (33) Yocum with children Harry E. (15), Harriet M. (12), and Dorras L. (7) living at 830 Franklin Street. Also in the household is Warren's brother Howard (22). Warren is a Motorman on a Street Car while Howard is a Plumber.

The WWI Draft Registration Card for Harry Earl Yocom records his place of birth as Douglasville, PA and his date of birth as December 16, 1894. His last name appears to be Yocom. His physical description is tall and slender with light brown eyes and dark brown hair.

The 1930 Federal Census for Reading, PA, ED 11, page 51B records Harry E. (35) and Martha M. (35) Yocum (sic) with children Arlene F. (8) and Harry E. Jr (6) living at 121 10th Street. They are listed in the household of Harry's in-laws, William (60) and Fannie (61) Scheaffer (sic). William's employment is listed as a Private Constable while Harry Yocum is an electrical engineer at the Hosiery Mill. William and Fannie have been married for 36 years while Harry and Martha for 10 years.

The 1940 Federal Census for Reading, PA, ED 70-16, page 217A, dated April 9, 1940 records Harry E. (45) and Martha (45) Yocum (sic) with children Francis A. (18) and Harry E. (16) living at 121 10th Street. They are listed in the household of Harry's in-laws, William (70) and Fanny (75) Schaeffer (sic). William has completed 4 years of schooling while Fanny has completed 6 years of schooling. Harry Yocum has completed 6 years of schooling is a Maintenance Man at the Hosiery Mill earning $3,900 working 52 weeks during the last year. Martha has completed 2 years of college and is not working. Francis has completed 4 yeasr of high school and is working as a typist at a sign advertising company.

Obituary for Harry E. Yocum
Harry E. Yocum, 57, of 510 Elizabeth Ave., Laureldale, died this morning in the Reading Hospital. He was a native of Doughlasville, a son of the late Warren and Ella (Wald) Yocum, and resided in Laureldale for 11 years. He was superintendent of the maintenance department of the former Rosedale Knitting Mills, where he was employed for 28 years.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Reading, and was a member of the church council. He was also a member of the following organizations: Mulenberg Lions Club; Chandeler Lodge 227, F. and A.M.; Central Fire Company, Laureldale; and its beneficial association; Richard Coffey Commandery, Knights of Malta; Independent Odd Fellows of Reading; Goodwill Fire Company, Hyde Park and its beneficial association; Friendship Fire Company and its beneficial association.
He was a veteran if World War I having served with the sixth Fi[e]ld Signal Battalion. Surviving are his widow, Martha (Schaffer) Yocum; two children F. Arlene, wife of William G. Hass, and Harry Earl Yocum Jr., both of Laureldale; three grand children; two sisters, Doris, wife of William H. Schaffer, Laureldale and Marian, wife of Harold Mellot, Reading.
The Rev. Arthur H. Naugle will officiate at funeral services in the Mertz Funeral Home, Laureldale, Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be made in Aulenbach's Cemetery.
