Pulaski County's first female constitutional officer, Addie Hylton Merrimee died Friday at the age of 93.
Merrimee began working in the Pulaski County Courthouse in 1934, serving under S.W. Cecil, former commissioner of the revenue. Merrimee became commissioner of the revenue in 1952. She remained in office until 1972.

Miss Addie, as we called her, will be very much missed by everyone in the Democratic party in the county, said Pulaski County Democratic Party Chairman Becky Gunn. "She gave us and the party 20 years of exceptional service as commissioner of the revenue. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and party members," Gunn added.
Merrimee was also a member of the Business and Professional Woman's Club, United Daughters of the Confederacy and was active on the board of the Hensel Eckman YMCA and advisory board of the Salvation Army. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pulaski.
