Published in the Patriot-News on 6/22/2008: Keith L. Baney, 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008 at Sarah Todd Nursing Home. Mr. Baney was born in Mechanicsburg, on September 16, 1925, the son of the late Samuel Baney and Edna (Kile) Ramp. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Enola, and the Washington Fire Company Mechanicsburg. He served in the 101st Airborne Division U S. Army in World War II in Bastion and the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Cresline Pipe, Mechanicsburg and was employed by Ritters Hardware, Mechanicsburg. Keith is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen (Waggoner) Baney; a daughter, Debby Zeigler of Georgia; 2 sons, Barry L. Baney of Georgia, and Brad R. Baney of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Lucille Vogelsong of Dillsburg; a brother, Robert Baney of Florida; 6 grandsons, Jeremy, Scott, Keith, and Josh Baney, and Chris and Kyle Zeigler; a great grandson and a great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Baney. Memorial services will be held in the Myers Funeral Home of Mechanicsburg, at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, June 24th, with Reverend Peter S. Bergstresser and Reverend David Schrefler officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 1-2 p.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, at convenience of the family.
