Emily Christine Daughtrey wrote that "Treacy Cutchins" was "Maria Theresa Cutchins". I have not found any documentation for that full name but believe Emily would have known her full name ... most of what she has written on the Daughtrey family history I have been able to document and confirm!

The 1850 Federal Census for Nansemond Co., Va. records Diana Cutchin, age 2, with parents John A. and Treacy Cutchin. Also in the household are Jerimiah H. (born ca 1846) and William A. (born Dec. 1849) Cutchin.

The 1860 Federal Census for the Upper Parish, Nansemond Co., Virginia, Suffolk P. O., page 683, dated August 26, 1860 records John A. (41 - VA) and Treacy (31 - VA) Cutchen with children Joel Cutchen (15), Deanna Cutchen (12), Soloman Cutchen (6), Martha Cutchen (4), and Corneleus Cutchen (1). John is a farmer and has real estate valued at $2,000 and a personal estate valued at $2,500.

The 1870 Federal Census for Holly Neck, Nansemond Co., Virginia, Suffolk P. O., page 265B/266A, dated August 18, 1870 records John A. (50 - VA) and Treacy (40 - VA) Cutchin with children Martha E. Cutchin (14), Cornelias A. Cutchin (12), and John O. Cutchin (2). John is a farmer and has real estate valued at $3,650 and a personal estate valued at $845. Next door is Joel H. Cutchin (23) and his wife, Mary F. Cutchin (21) and daughter Rosa E. Cutchin (1). Both households have several farm hands and domestic servants living with the families.

The 1880 Federal Census for Holly Neck, Nansemond Co., Virginia, District 55, page 134A records John A. (60 - VA/VA/VA) and Treacy (55 - VA/VA/VA) Cutchins with children Martha E. Cutchins (23) and John O. Cutchins (12). Also in the home are 2 domestic servants [Elizabeth Fowler (17) & Edward Fowler (15)] and 2 farm hands [Jno. Y. Councill (18) & George W. Brown (21)].

The 1900 Federal Census for Holy Neck, Nansemond Co., Va. District 27 records the widow "Trecy Cutchins" (Dec 1824) living in the household of her son, John O. Cutchins (Apr 1868), and his wife Ellie S. (June 1869) and children Mildred A. (Oct 1892), Louise (June 1895), Rachael (May 1897), and John A. (May 1898). Trecy has had 10 children of whom 6 are still living.
