The 1910 Federal Census records Mabel living at the home of her father, Robert, in Nansemond Co., Va.

The 1920 Federal Census records Robert Rawles (76) living at 607 Clay Street in Franklin, Southampton Co., Va. with his wife Bettie (60), daughters Christine (38) and Mable (29), and brother Eugene (65-widower).

Mabel Rawls was a school teacher and never married (from a letter to Ethel Daughtrey Ellis, ca 1970).

The 1930 Federal Census for Virginia, Norfolk (Independent City), District 62 records Mabel Rawls (38) boarding in the rented apartment of Chester B. (46-Dentist) and Ione C. (40) Gifford at 1500 Hampton Boulevard.

The SSDI lists her date of birth as Sept. 10, 1890 and death date as Nov 1963.
