Christine (Christian)(Christene) Parker
- Born: 1820, Gates Co, NC 20
- Marriage: Randolph Eugene Rawls Sr. about 1840
- Died: 19 Jan 1876, Nansemond Co, VA. at age 56
- Buried: Holy Neck Christian Church Cemetery, Nansemond County
General Notes:
Christine's father was David Parker, husband to Edna Goodman. David Parker apparently died soon after Christine was born. Edna later married David Milteer and had several children with him. David Milteer is her step father but is often referred to as her "father". Christian's name as well as that of her sister, Parthenia, appears in the will of her grand father, Kedar Parker.
Given names Catherine Rawls and Kate Rawls are listed in the 1870 and 1880 Federal Census records for Nansemond Co., VA as the wife of Randolph Rawls Perhaps the 1870 listing should be Christine instead of Catherine in that she is listed as 49 years old in the 1870 census and Christine's tombstone lists her date of death as 1876 and birth as 1820. While the given name in the census record is not consistent (Catherine vs Christine), the age listed there is consistent with the headstone death date with a ca1820 birth date gleaned from the 1850 & 1860 census data.
Christine married Randolph Eugene Rawls Sr., son of Andrew Rawls and Abigail Porter, about 1840. (Randolph Eugene Rawls Sr. was born on 17 Jan 1811 in Nansemond Co, VA, died on 18 Oct 1882 in Nansemond Co, VA. and was buried in Holy Neck Christian Church Cemetery, Nansemond County.)
Marriage Notes:
Gatesville, North Carolina Deed Book 18, Pages 10-11 Deed of Randolph Rawls and Christian his wife and David Meltear and Edney his wife to Miles Benton Deed Date 7 August 1841 Date Recorded August Court 1841 The above establishes the marriage date for Randolph Rawls and Christine Parker to be before August 7, 1841
