  General Notes:

In the 1880 Federal Census Randolph (25) and Florence (35) Rawls are living in Gates Co., N.C. A letter from Ola Daughtrey to Ethel Daughtrey Ellis ca 1970 states that "he [Randolph] married a widow, Florence Walters, and lived in Georgia. They had no children - he died at cousin Christines [Rawls] in Franklin."

The 1900 Federal Census for McRae City, Telfair Co., Georgia, District 86, page 251B, dated June 7, 1900 records Randolph E. Ralles (Nov 1854 - VA/VA/VA) and wife Florence C. (Sept 1843 - NC/NC/NC). Also in the household are Bessie Brooks (June 1883 - niece - NC/NC/NC), Yada Brooks (July 1885 - niece - NC/NC/NC), Allice Brooks (June 1886 - niece - NC/NC/NC), and Walters Brooks (Sept 1889 - nephew - GA/NC/NC). All of the females were born in North Carolina and Walters in Georgia. Florence and Randolph have been married 21 years with no children. The Brooks children are apparently the children, or step children, of Randolph's sister, Josephine Rawls.

The 1910 Federal Census for McRae City, Telfair Co., Georgia, District 161 records Randolf E. Rawles (58) and wife Florence C. (65). Also in the household are Walter O. Brooks (20 - nephew) and Jessie Brooks (63 - sister) [Josephine Rawls Brooks].

The 1920 Federal Census records John P. (48), Odell R. (45), Robert (25), Eugenia (21), and Lelia (13) Jones living at 507 Clay Street in Franklin, Southampton Co., Va. [This is John P. and Trecie Odell Rawls Jones and family] Odell's father, Robert Rawles (76), is living a few doors away at 607 Clay Street with his wife Bettie (60), daughters Cristine (38) and Mable (29), and his widowed brother, Eugene (65) [Randolph Eugene Rawls]. Eugene continued to live at the house after his brother Robert died. Robert's daughter, Christine [Dianna Christine Rawls], kept the house and looked after Eugene until his death.
