Thomas J. Rawls
General Notes: Thomas enlisted June 6, 1861 as a private in 41st Virginia Infantry, Co. K, Army of Northern Virginia. He was hospitalized at various times due to typhoid and intermittant fever. He was wounded at The Wilderness, May 6, 1864, and hospitalized at Farmville, then returned to duty July 12, 1864. He was wounded at the Battle of the Crater at Petersburg. In October 1864 he was sent to Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond suffering with acute diarrhea. |
