  General Notes:

It is recorded in the 1900 Federal Census, Virginia, Nansemond Co., Holy Neck District 27, page 126A that TL and Allie Daughtrey are living with Aunt Josephine Rawls Brooks in the Town of Holland just one month after they had married on May 22, 1900. Members of the household are: Losie (Oct 1867) and Alnona (June 1874) Daughtrey and Josephine Brooks (Jan 1847 - widow). Josephine indicates that she had no children. Emily Daughtrey wrote that Josephine married later in life and since she is listed in the 1880 census in her father's household she married in her 30s (or 40s) and unfortunately lost her husband not long afterward.

The 1910 Federal Census for McRae, Telfair Co., Georgia, District 161 records the widow Jossie Brooks (63 - VA/VA/VA) living with her brother Randolfe E. Rawles (58 - VA/VA/VA) and his wife Florence C. (65 - NC/NC/NC). Also in the household is Randolfe's nephew, Walter O. Brooks (20 - GA/NC/NC). Walter is listed as born in Georgia and both parents in North Carolina and is a turpentine salesman and Randolfe is a farmer. There is no indication of the number of children for Jossie [Rawls Brooks]. See notes on Josephine's brother, Randolph, from the 1900 census records for siblings of Walter.

The 1920 Federal Census for McRae, Telfair Co., Georgia, District 110 records Walters O. Brooks (31) with wife Annie (26) living on College Street. Walters is a proprietor of a Drug Store.
