The 1900 Federal Census for Berlin and Ivor, Southampton Co., Virginia, District 54, page 1A, dated June 1, 1900 records Ben F. Bell (Nov 1832) with wife of 12 years, Mary E. (Dec 1850), and daughters Mariah (April 1868) and Cathleen (Sept 1895) [The K is overwritten with a C]. Ben and Mary have had 3 children of which only 1 is still alive.

The 1910 Federal Census for Berlin and Ivor, Southampton Co., Virginia, District 112, page 1A, dated April 15, 1910 records Bennie F. Bell (77) with his wife of 22 years, Mary E. (59) and daughter Kathleen (14). This is the 2nd marriage for Bennie but 1st for Mary E. They have had 3 children of which only 1 is still alive.

The 1920 Federal Census for Petersburg, Ward 2, Virginia, District 74, page 95A, dated 1920 records Benjamin F. Bell (87) with his wife, Mary E. (69), living with his son, Joseph R. Bell (58), and his wife Allie E. Bell (48) at 51 Corling Street.

Mrs. Mary E. Bell of Blackstone is described as a surviving sister in the 1923 obituary of Sarah Cornelia [Rawls] Daughtrey.

The 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records indicate Benjamin F. Bell living in Berlin and Ivor District, Southampton Co., Va. Post Office of Jerusalem. Ben is a coach maker married to Estella (b 1838) and has children Joseph R. (b 1861), Fannie P. T. (b 1864), and Maggie E. (b 1867). The 1850 census for Isle of Wight Co. indicate that Ben Bell's parents are Josiah (b 1802) and Nancy (1811) Bell.
