The 1860 Federal Census for North Middleton, Cumberland Co., PA records a Maria McCallister (20 - PA) as a domestic in the home os William and Eve Swigert ... although there is a Mariah McCallister, daughter of Samuel McCallister, in nearby Lewiston, Mifflin Co., PA. Actually ... latest research (January 2008) indicates Maria's parents are David and Mary McCallister ... see combined notes for John Goudy, Pearl Goudy, and Pearl's husband, John H. Morrison:
The 1860 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Perry Co., Carroll Township records David (52 - PA) and Mary (54 - PA) McAllister (sic) with children John (23), Maria (19), Christian (21), David (11), and Franklin P. (8). David is a farmer and has real estate valued at $2,200 and a personal estate of $75.

The 1900 U.S. Census for Carroll Township, Perry Co., Pennsylvania, ED# 150, page 49B records Maria Goudy (Oct 1841 - widow) with children Susan S. Goudy (Dec 1876 - widow), Maggie A. (Oct 1881), Pearl (Feb 1884), and grandson Charley Bruner (Oct 1899). One page over in this census record is the future husband of Pearl Goudy, John H. Morrison.

The 1910 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Perry Co., Carroll Twp, District 126 records Mariah Goudy (68-widow) living with her daughter Susan (32) and her husband, John W. Hill (34), and their children Charles B. (13), Dortha (3), Marlin J. (4/12). Mariah has had 11 children of whom 9 are still living. Nearby is Mariah's brother David McAllister (sic)and his family. Susan is most likely the mother of Charley listed in the 1900 census and has remarried. Pearl has moved to Black Hawk Co., Iowa where here brother Lewis and sister Marie are living. The 1920 Federal Census, Pennsylvania, Perry Co., Carroll Twp, District 135, page 32b/33A records John W. (45) and Susan S. (43) Hill with children Dorothy (11), Martin J. (10), Grace L. (7), and Charles M. Bruner (20). Mariah is no longer living with the family and has probably passed away.

Various Iowa Census records list Maria's maiden name as McAllister.
