The Family Bible with records were presented to John P. and Sallie Blackwell by their "affectionate mother Mrs. Mary A. Blackwell Jan 23, 1888". (as written in the Family Bible-see notes on grandson Benjamin Thomas Blackwell, son of John Pomphrette Blackwell, Jr.)

These records were added to by B. T. Blackwell [Benjamin Thomas Blackwell], copied and given to Ruth Coleman Garrett Adkins and given to this researcher, L. Bolling Hagen, husband to Ruth's daughter, Mary Lou Adkins Hagen in Dec 1998. Updated to Hagen Genealogy Jan. 1999

The death certificate of her son, Robert Marshall Blackwell, indicates that his mother, Mary Ann Webb, was born in Alamance Co., NC.

This Mary Ann Amy Webb and her brother, John Pomfret Webb, are written about in "Our Webb Kin of Dixie". They are indexed as E45 [Mary Ann Amy Webb] and E42 [John Pomfret] on page 45. On page 67, John Pomfret Webb, E42, is said to be a grandson of John Pomfret and E45 [Mary Ann Amy Webb] is said to carry on the Pomfret name; however, to clarify, John Pomfret Webb is a great grandson of John Pomfret and Mary Ann Amy Webb married John Pomfret Blackwell Sr., who was a great grand son of the original John Pomfret.

" The name John Pomfret is still used in the Blackwell family (E45) John Pomfret Webb (E42) is a grandson."
... E45 is Mary Ann Amy Webb and E42, John Pomfret Webb are siblings.

Mary married John Pomphrette Blackwell Sr., son of William Blackwell and Elizabeth (Betsy) Dixon Marshall, on 12 Sep 1837 in Vance Co., NC.¹ (John Pomphrette Blackwell Sr. was born on 26 Jan 1809 in Granville/Vance Co., N.C.,¹ died on 16 Jun 1890 in Bullock, Vance Co., NC and was buried in Blackwell Lot, Marrows Chapel, Bullock, Vance Co., NC.)
