Pat Shields
Pat Shields, 69, a 1951 graduate of Sheridan High School, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at his home in Saratoga. Services are 11 a.m. Jan. 4 at the Saratoga High School gymnasium. Mr. Shields was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Loveland, Colo., to Stanley K. and Isabella C. (McCurrie) Shields. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and graduated from Colorado State University in 1957. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service, the Mill Iron Ranch in Thermopolis, and the Palm Cattle Co. Ranch in Basin. He retired from the Saratoga school system in 1998 and worked for Mountain Veterinary Supply at the time of his death. He was known as a friend and a cowboy. Survivors include two brothers, John of Fort Collins, Colo., and Paul of Wheatland; and numerous nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorials may benefit Platte River Rodeo Association, P.O. Box 442, Saratoga, WY 82331. Arrangements are with Rostad Mortuary, Rawlins.
