The 1880 Federal Census for Joliet, Will Co., Illinois, District 199, records Peter (48 - Scotland/Scotland/Scotland) and Isabelle (39 - Scotland/Scotland/Scotland) McCuire [McCurrie] with children Willie (11), John (9), Elysbeth A. (7), Jane (7), Grace (5), and Isabella (2). Peter is employed as a Shipping Clerk
Joliet City Directories indicate Isabelle becomes a widow by 1885.
The 1900 Federal Census for Joliet, Will Co., Illinois, District 134, records the widow Isabelle McCurrie (Nov 1840-Scotland) with children William (April 1869), Lizzie (March 1873), Jane (March 1873), and Grace (April 1876). Isabelle states that she has had 6 children of which 5 are still living. They are living at 302 Henry Street and next door is James Haddow (Aug 1839), brother of Isabelle. Isabelle indicates that she immigrated to the United State in 1865 while James Haddow states 1863. James is a Guard for ISP [Illinois State Penitentiary]
