The 1930 Federal Census for Virginia, Danville (Independent City), Danville Ward 4, District 10, page 223A taken April 12, 1930 records Gus (30) and Ellen (27) Dyer with children Ellen (4 2/12) and Gus Jr. 2 7/12) living at 317 College Avenue. Next door is Ellen's sister Hutter Harvey (31) and her husband Ernest (34).
Mrs. G. W. Dyer [Ellen DeMott] of Danville is listed as a survivor in the Nov. 1, 1965 obituary in the Danville Bee of her sister, Mrs. Grace DeMott Young.
The Danville Bee reports on Nov. 4, 1970 the obituary for Mrs. Russell Morrison [Miss Louise DeMott] where she is survived by her sisters, Mrs. A. B. Williams of Charlotte Court House, VA and Mrs. G. W. Dyer Sr. of Danville; and one brother, G. W. DeMott of Roanoke.
