Mrs. Ada DeMott Dies At Hospital; Funeral Sunday
Mrs. Ada Catherine DeMott, aged 59, died this morning at Edmunds Hospital where she was taken a week ago for treatment and an operation. Mrs. DeMott was the widow of G. W. DeMott who died twenty-two years ago and was a resident of Charlotte Courthouse coming to Danville comparatively recently for hospital treatment. She was a native of Pittsylvania County being born in Chatham a daughter of the late George White and Mrs. Elizabeth White. Since her married life, she had made her home at Charlotte Courthouse where she was identified for many years with the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her mother and the following children, Richard DeMott of Chatham and William DeMott of Radford; Mrs. William L. Young, Mrs. Ernest Harvey, Mrs. Gus Dyer, all of Danville; Mrs. A. B. Williams of Charlotte Courthouse and Mrs. Kersey Jackson of Washington D. C. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Joseph Daniel and three brothers, Edward White, Rison White and Harvey White.
The funeral will be conducted on Sunday afternoon at half past two o'clock from Townes Funeral Home by Revs. John Rustin and J. B. Winn, interment to be made at Chatham.
