Iva Pritchard
NORFOLK \endash Iva Pritchard Newton, 93, passed away peacefully in her home on Thurs., July 16, 2009. Born in Norfolk County, she was the fifth of eight children to the late Joseph A. and Sophie Love Burnham Pritchard. She graduated from Maury High School and attended Averett College as an art student. Iva had retired as the Vice-President of the family business, Newton Piano Co.She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Herbert J. Newton; three children, Thomas D. Newton, Carole N. Morris and her husband, Jim, and Joseph A. Newton and his wife, Debi; two younger sisters, Louise Jones and Lois Carver; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Zelda Williamson.A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Mon., July 20, 2009 in Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Morris. A visitation with family and friends will be at the H. D.
