The census records Eva having 9 children of which 7 are still alive.

Daughtrey (52) and siblings Blanche (26 - High School Teacher), Marjorie (23 -Grammar School Teacher), and Evenlyn (16).

The 1930 Federal Census for Windsor, Isle of Wight Co., Virginia, District 9, page 292A, dated April 10, 1930 records the widow Eva L. Daughtrey (62) (indexed at ancestry as Dockey) and her daughters Blanche (34) and Margery (32). Blanche and Margery are Public School Teachers. Eva owns her home valued at $6,000. Near by (on the next page of the census) is Eva's son, Edward: page 292B, Edward D. (30 - VA/VA/VA) and E. Mariann (28 - VA/VA/VA) Daughtrey. Edward is a Manager of some company (illegible) and has been married for 8 years. He owns his home valued at $6,000.

The 1940 Federal Census for Windsor, Isle of Wight Co., Virginia, District 47-10, page 176A, dated May 24, 1940 records Edward D. Daughtrey (39 - VA) with his wife Elizabeth (38) and children Jean (13), Constance (10), and Edward D. Jr. (2). Nearby are his sisters ... Blanche Daughtrey (47) living with Doris (52) and Frederick (58) Corbin along Rte 58.

EVA LEE DAUGHTREY DAUGHTREY
Mrs. Eva L. Daughtrey died at her home on the Franklin-Carrsville highway in Isle of Wight County Tuesday afternoon, ending her life with a pistol shot through the heart which brought death almost instantly. Mrs. Daughtrey had been in failing health for some time. She was the daughter of the late Allen and Elizabeth Norfleet Daughtrey and the widow of Edward Dixon Daughtrey. She was a faithful and useful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Mrs. Daughtrey is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Fred M. Corbin of Windsor, Mrs. Edgar V. Stephenson of Ivor, Mrs. Frank B. Jones of Norfolk and Miss Blanche Daughtrey of Isle of Wight; two sons, Algie B. Daughtrey of Norfolk and Edward D. Daughtrey of Franklin; a sister, Miss Lydia M. Daughtrey of Franklin; three brothers, W.A Daughtrey of Suffolk, J.O.H. and B.R. Daughtrey of Franklin, and 13 grandchildren. Services were conducted at Beaver Dam Church Thursday morning at 11 o'clock by her pastor, Rev. J.T. Garland Moore, assisted by Rev. W.B. Denson of Buena Vista, a former pastor. Interment was made in the church cemetery, with the following pallbearers; Elmer Daughtrey, Howard Daughtrey, J. Hurley Daughtrey, C.N. Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, William H.
