General Notes:
The 1870 Federal Census shows J. J. (Joseph John) Daughtrey (b. 1830) as the head of the household with Priscilla Daughtrey (b. 1804) and additional people Margaret J. (b. 1840), Asenath (b. 1845), and Josiah (b. 1860). J. J.'s father had recently died and he was now living at his parents home with his mother and sisters.
Will of Prissy (Priscilla Holland) Daughtrey ISLE OF WIGHT COURTHOUSE Isle of Wight, Virginia Will Book 30, Page 247 19th July 1869 (The ( ) is not in the will, but I am placing that into the document for clarification)
I, Prissy (Priscilla Holland) Daughtrey of Isle of Wight and State of Virginia being in not very good health but of sound mind, memory, and understanding, do make and ordain this writing to be my last will and testament and after the payment of all my just debts I do dispose of all my worldly goods and effects in manner following, to wit:
Item, First, I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph J. Daughtrey all my interest in the crop now growing on my place, and my bay mare, and my cart and wheels and all my farming implements to him and his heirs forever,
Item, Second, I do give and bequeath all the balance of my property not mentioned in the item first to my sons and daughters, namely, Eley Daughtrey, Allen Daughtrey, Martha E. (Elizabeth) Daughtrey, Margaret J. (Jane) Daughtrey and Asenath Daughtrey to them and their heirs forever.
Lastly I nominate and appoint my son Joseph J. Daughtrey Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
Given under my hand and seal this 19th day of July 1869.

Virginia, In the Quarterly Court of Isle of Wight County September the 2nd 1872. The last will and testament of Priscilla or Prissey Daughtrey decd. was proved by the oaths of Wm H. Cutchin & Dixon H. Holland two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded, and on the motion of Jos. J. Daughtrey the Executor therein named who made oath together with Dixon H. Holland & Wm H. Cutchin his securities, (who justified) entered into and acknowledged above in the penalty of two hundred dollars ($200.00) with condition according to law, certificate of Probate is granted him on said will, the estimated value of the Estate being less than one thousand dollars, no United States Revenue Stamp is required on said bond, which is ordered to be recorded.
