Margaret Elinor (Eleanor) L. Daughtrey

  General Notes:

The 1850 Federal Census for Isle of Wight Co., Va. records Elinor Daughtrey living with her parents. Elinor is not living with her parents in the 1860 census; however, there is a J. M. Daughtrey listed as the wife of Riddick Daughtry in 1860 ... no explaination for those initials. Elinor's sister, Margaret Jane, is listed as living with her parents in 1860. Elinor dies sometime after the birth of her daughter, Martha, in 1864 and Riddick remarries to the widow Sarah Gardner. Emily Christine Daughtrey records in her Daughtrey Family History notes that Eleanor married Riddick Daughtrey.

In a lawsuit related to her father's dying intestate, Elinor is named as Margaret E. L. Daughtrey, daughtrer of Joshua Daughtrey, wife of Riddick Daughtrey, "& she being now dead & leaving three childrento wit: Edward - Algernon & Martha P. Daughtrey all three under age of 21 years - as his heirs at law."

Margaret married Riddick D. Daughtry about 1857 in Isle of Wight Co., VA. (Riddick D. Daughtry was born about 1810 and died in Dec 1891 in Isle of Wight Co., VA.)
