R. R. Rhodes is listed in the 1880 census but not thereafter ... well actually after comparing census records and WWI Draft Registreation Cards, it turns out that there were brothers, Rubert Raliegh and Robert Anderson Rhodes. Rubert and Robert are often confused in researching the family. The 1990 census records that Jethro and Martha have had 11 children of which 6 are still living.

The 1920 Federal Census for Isle of Wight Co., Va. records Rawlie R. (42) and Eva (32) with children Robert R. (9) and Jethro D. (7) living on the Windsor-Carrsville Road.
The 1930 Federal Census for Isle of Wight Co., Va. records Raliegh (53) and Eva (41) Rhodes with children Ralston (20), Jethro G. (17), and Eva L. (11) living at Spivey Corners.
