Researching 1840 census records one finds both Humphrey Gum and William Gum living in Northampton County; howver, Humphrey is listed as age 60 - 70 years with a female in residence as (40 - 50) while William as 20 -30 years with a female in residence as (20 - 30)
In addition ... researching Fannie Baker's brother, John P. Baker (born ca 1870) ... from the NC Death Certificate for John Perry Baker (born 11/18/1869 - died 4/24/1955) ... his parents are George Baker and Elizabeth Gums.
