Bateman (25 - PA/Wales/PA) with their children Harold N. (6) and Harry B. (3/12) living at 1204 South 19th Street. Harold is a Truck Driver for an Air Reduction Company. Also in the household is Harold's widowed father, Samuel G. Bateman (61 - Wales/Wales/Wales).

The 1940 Federal Census for Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania, ED# 22-14, page 229B, dated April 18, 1940 records Madeline S. Bateman (35) and her husband Harold S. Bateman (35 - PA/Wales/PA) with their children Harold H. (16) and Harry W. (10) living at 1215 Manada Street. Harold is a Police Officer for a Municipal Gor (sic) while Madeline is a Candy Maker for a Candy Manufacturer. Also in the household is Harold's widowed father, Samuel G. Bateman (71 - Wales) who is employed as an Oiler for a Steel Mill as well as Harold's divorced brother, Edward L. Bateman (38 - PA) who is employed as a Junior Clerk in Unemployment.
