Allie Beale Daughtrey compiled much Daughtrey Family History in the 1950s. She worked with her Aunt Emily Daughtrey to gather and write down family facts including writing down her interview with her grandfather, Eli Daughtrey, regarding his service during the Civil War ... see general notes for Eli Daughtrey. Much of this work was passed on to her cousins, Inez and Ethel Daughtrey. In 1997 when cleaning out Inez' home at 904 Turnbull Avenue in Richmond, VA, letters were found from the 1950s from Allie with a return address to Criglersville, VA. That was used to deduce her husband's lineage.
