  General Notes:

The WWI Draft Registration Card for LeRoy Hagen taken June 5, 1917 records his date of birth to be August 11, 1894 in Reading, PA. He has a wife and child and is living at 1135 Franklin Street in Reading. He is employed as a Chauffeur for the Central Taxi Cab Co. at 35 Poplar Street. His physical description is medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair.

In the 1920 Federal Census for Reading, Berks Co., Pa., ED#125 page 184A taken January 5, 1920 records LeRoy Hagan (26) with wife Florence (29) and son George (3 9/12) living at 1725 Cotton Street. LeRoy is employed as a Private Chauffeur. Using 3 9/12 as the age for George, his date of birth would be March 1916. George's mom, Florence, died in 1928.

LeRoy has not been found in the 1930 census, however, his son, George, is living with his mom's sister (Helen Mae Wentzel Garrison) and her husband.

The WWII Draft Registration Card (for men born on or after April 28, 1877 and on or before February 16, 1897) for Leroy Hagen dated April 27, 1942 lists his date of birth as August 13, 1892 in Reading, PA. He is living at 614 Crosby St., Chester, Delaware Co., PA. His physical description is 5' 7", 128 lbs with blue eyes, brown hair and light complexion. The person who will always know his address is a Mr. Baker who is living at the same Crosby Street address ... [note: A 1956 Chester City Directory list the Chester Rescue Mission at 614 Crosby Street. Perhaps Leroy was homeless.] Leroy is employed by a Mr. Anthony at 201 E 6th Street which is at the corner of Crosby and 6th nearby his residence.
He signs his card "Le Roy Hagen".

LeRoy married Florence A. Wentzel, daughter of Harry R. Wentzel and Amelia Schnable, on 7 Sep 1915 in Reading, Berks Co., PA..¹⁴⁷ (Florence A. Wentzel was born on 9 Oct 1890 in Lower Alsace, Berks Co., PA, died on 3 Sep 1928 in Reading, Berks Co., PA. and was buried on 7 Sep 1928 in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, Berks Co., PA.) The cause of her death was Acute Dilitation of the Heart / nephritis / acite gastritis.
