Maureen talked with this researcher on May 18, 2008. She acknowledged receiving Hagen Family information regarding her "Reading Hagen Family" from this reseacher back in 2004 and apologized for taking so long to get in touch. She related that she was a Music Major at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Winchester, VA but knew little else of Virginia. She said her mom was from New Orleans where she met her father, Richard Hagen. Her dad wanted to move back to Reading, which they did. Most of the Hagen family at that time did not approve of the relationship which resulted in a distance between the families over the years.
Maureen asked if I could find out some additional information on her mother's family. She shared some data on her mom, Eva Haas, such as parents and siblings [parents John Henry Haas & Amelia Henriette Shmitt - sister Florance Haas (born Sept 14, 1918 - died Nov 2007), Florance married to Joseph Scavo; brother Henry Haas with a daughter, Denyse]. Eva is the last of her generation and will celebrate her 90th birthday this September. Maureen was a delight to talk with and I look forward to additional opportunities to visit.
