Mrs. Catherine G. (Hagan) Ryan, 81, of 130 W. 39th St., Reiffton, died yesterday in St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hagan.
A member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Mount Penn, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Ryan, in 1945.
Mrs. Ryan is survuved by a daughter, Catherine E., wife of James J. Borst, with whom she last resided; two grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Mary Buckley, and a brother, Albert R. Hagan, both of Reading.
Funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Whelan & Mountz Funeral Home.
A High Requiem Mass at 9:30 o'clock in St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church will be followed by burial in Gethsemane Cemetery.

Catherine E. Borst, 91, Wyomissing, died Aug. 3 in Reading Hospital shortly after admission. Her husband, James J. Borst, died Nov. 4, 1995. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Philip A. and Catherine G. (Hagen) Ryan. Borst was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. She is survived by two sons, James P., Fleetwood, and David G., Leesport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. The Auman Funeral Homes, Reiffton, is in charge of arrangements.
