A 2001 Genforum/Daughtry post from andace@bellsouth.net
I am interested in finding anyone researching the Daughtry family of Richmond Co. Augusta Georgia. My great grandmother was Sarah Daughtry and she married David Ellison Morgan in Augusta Georgia. I know she had a sister that also married a Morgan, but not one related to me Morgan clan. I don't have any information about her parents etc. thanks for any help....Candace Jeffers Smith

Followup post in Aug 2005 by Margaret Mckinney from Martinez, GA (near Augusta ) peggymck@bellsouth.net
I have information on Sarah Daughtrey the daughter of Richard Daughtrey and Jemina Butler, if you are still interested. I would like to know more about her husband and her children if you can share. I am originally from VA where this Daughtrey family was from but now live in Martinez, Ga.
Thanks,
Peggy

With the above facts from Candace and Peggy one can find:
The 1880 Federal Census for the City of Augusta, Richmond Co., Ga. District 123, ED# 104, page 510A records D. E. (27 - GA / farmer) and Sarah R. (35 - VA) Morgan with children Richard (6 - GA), Lewis (4 - GA), and Byron (2 - GA). It appears that Sarah is shaving a fews years from, and the location of, her birth.

See general notes on her father, Richard Daughtrey, for full discussion of Sarah's family facts from an email from Margaret McKinney on March 13, 2006 details the Richard Daughtrey family in Georgia:
Bo,
I was born and raised in Portsmouth VA and all my dad's people were from SH Co, VA, IW Co, VA, Nanse Co, VA and Gates, Hertford and NH Co, NC. So I have many ties to the area and I have a brother and lots of cousins still living there. A lot of my relatives married in to the Daughtrey family. One of my cousins there that is active in genealogy has a Daughtrey line and I have worked with her on this as we have been visiting courthouses, etc for over 40 years. Candace Jeffers Smith is connected to this line and she has some pictures of Richard Daughtrey's daughters Frances and Sara as they are her direct ancestors. We have shared a lot of info, but I have had to quit working active on this as my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer in Dec and my Mom has been ill (93 years old) and she died in Portsmouth the 9th of Jan. And as my husband has been doing poorly I still try to answer and share what info I have. I will enjoy hearing from you and anything you may share. I am sending you my files on Richard and Isaac as I happened to live in Martinez GA which is 12 miles from Augusta which is in Richmond Co, GA and I am an active member of the Genealogical society here and have spent many hours doing research here.
Hope this helps .
