FRANCES MORGAN JEFFERS
Frances Morgan Jeffers, 83, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
She was born July 24, 1921 to Frances Evan and Cora Thompson Morgan in Augusta, Ga. Frances graduated from Georgia State College for Women in 1942 with a bachelor of Arts in History. On June 9, 1950 she was married to Asahel H. Jeffers in Aiken, S.C. Frances moved to Savannah in 1968 from Warm Springs, Georgia. She retired after 25 years of service from Memorial Hospital where she was the supervisor of the Financial Department. She was a member of the Isle of Hope Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Carolyne M. Shepherd and Sara M. Zeagler, a great grandson, Jacob Stephen Smith.
Survivors: a daughter and son-in-law, Candace J, and Stephen Smith, two sons, Christopher Jay Jeffers and Bradley Hunt Jeffers, a daughter-in-law, Karen Craig Jeffers, all of Savannah, Ga., three grandchildren, Leigh Ann Smith, Luke Joseph Jeffers and Morgan Drew Jeffers, a great grand-daughter, Olivia Rose McElroy; two nephews, Scott and Kirk Shepherd both of Augusta, Ga.; a niece Marsha Zeagler of Statesboro,Ga; seven great nephews, one great niece, and two great great nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 505 North Parkway, Memphis, Tn. 38105.
Visitation 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Hubert Baker Funeral Home.
Funeral Service 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of the Hubert Baker Funeral Home with Dr. Frank M. Parr officiating.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
