The 1900 Federal Census for Reynoldson, Gates Co., NC, District 47 records the recently married couple William (March 1875 - VA) and Leslie (Sept 1875 - VA) Everette with no children
Leslie is soon to become a widow and moves back to Nansemond Co., VA. The 1910 census records her with her children living with her brother, Charlie Rawles, and sister, Annie (see general notes on Charlie L. Rawles).
The 1920 Federal Census for Holland Town, Holy Neck, Nansemond Co., Va., District 19, page 190B, dated January 3, 1920 records the widow Leslie Everett (42) and her daughters, Olie W. (19) and Willie J. (16) Everett living on Main Street near the intersection with Railroad Street. Nearby is her brother Charles L. Rawles (52) boarding at the home of Harvey and Ivey Edwards on Main Street in Holland Town. Charles is a Real Estate Agent while Leslie is the Post Mistress for the U. S. Post Office.
