The 1880 Federal Census for Holy Neck, Nansemond Co., Va. records Randolph Rawls (70 - VA/VA/VA) with wife Kate (48 - VA/VA/VA) and children Josephine (25), Mary E. (23), Cornelia (21), David P. (19), and Braxton B. (17). Next door is his brother, A. J. Rawls (53 - VA/VA/VA), with his wife Indianna (43 - NC/NC/NC) and children Ina (25), Emma (20), Charlie L. (13), Pokahontas (10), Cleopatra (8), L. [Leslie] B. (5), and Endie (1).

The 1900 Federal Census for Holy Neck, Nansemond Co., Va., District 27 records Andrew J. Rawls (July 1826) with wife Indiana O. (April 1838) and children Charles (June 1868), Huntas (April 1870), Cleopatra (Nov 1873), and Annie J. (April 1879). Andrew and Indiana have been married for 36 years and have had 7 children of which 5 are still living.

Andrew next married Indiana (Anna) M. Ophelia Goodman, daughter of Jethro (Jet) Darden Goodman and Penniah Willey, on 25 Nov 1863 in Gates Co., N.C. (Indiana (Anna) M.
