bullet  General Notes:

Notes in the possesion of Mary Lou Hagen Taylor indicate that she was called "auntie". Inez Hagen had told her son, Bolling (this researcher), that her name was "Annie" Baker which is probably how she heard the word "auntie".

Mary Elizabeth Baker's Certificate of Death (Virginia 2416-17767 - 2077) lists her date of death as Aug 31, 1948 in Richmond, VA. She was living at the Baptist Home for aged Women at 1400 Grove Ave., Richmond, VA. [intersection of Grove Avenue & Harvie Street]

See general notes on her mother, Margaret Pearson (Hagen), for 1870 census facts on "Lillie" Baker in Lancaster, PA.

Note: From the wedding announcement for Emma Susan Hagen:
... The couple were attended by Mr. William J. Eberly as best man and by the bride's half-sister Miss M. Elizabeth Baker, as maid of honor. Emma was married June 11, 1895 at Olivet Baptist Church, Lancaster City, PA.

Note: The 1900 Federal Census for Lancaster City, Lancaster Co., PA, District 61 records an Elithabeth Baker (June 1866 - PA/PA/PA) as a boarder in the home of Amanda Beeble (Oct 1858 - PA/PA/PA) on 610 Freiburg Street. Elithabeth is a Sales Lady at a Dry Goods Store. [This is likely our "Auntie" Baker.]

The 1898 & 1901 Lancaster City Directories record: M. Elizabeth Baker, clk Hager Bros, h 131 Charlotte. Interesting that 131 Charlotte is the home of Edwin and Maggie Hagen. Maggie is Elizabeth's mother.

Note: The 1920 Federal Census for Lancaster City, Ward 6, Lancaster Co., PA, District 64, page 137B, dated January 12, 1920 records an Elizabeth Baker (53 - PA/PA/PA) as a boarder in the home of Benjamin F. (58 - PA/PA/MD) & Sara L. (62 - PA/PA/PA) Barnett on 134 East New Street. Elizabeth is a Tipper at an Umbrella Factory. [This is likely our "Auntie" Baker.]
