Florence is named in an April 4, 1914 Court Proceeding on the sale of the land belonging to her mother, Susan Caroline Doughtie. A payment was made on May 12, 1914 of $423. 35 to Susan Caroline Doughtie's married daughters: Maggie N. Holland, Florence T. Lee, and A. C. Pearce.

In 1920, Florence was living with her daughter, Phyllis but by 1930 Phyllis has gone to live with her siblings in Norfolk, VA perhaps due to the death of her mother: The 1930 Federal Census, Virginia, Norfolk (Independent City), District 107 records Phyllis D. Lee (26) moving to Norfolk Va. to live with her single siblings, Harry P. (43) and Helen (35) renting at 1714 Bellevue Ave. Harry is a U.S. Government Inspector, Helen a Stenographer, and Phyllis a Book Keeper at a Building Supply.
Actually, the 1922 & 1923 Norfolk, VA City Directories records Harry, Helen, and Phyllis all living at 321 W 29th Street.
