The 1920 Federal Census, ED #103, page 151A taken Jan 13, 1920 records Joseph R. (48) and Carrie (39-VA) Daughtrey (indexed as Doughtrey at ancestry.com) with sons Joe P. (7) and John P. (3/12) living at 354 West 13th Street in Norfolk, Va. Joseph is a clerk in a grocery store.
The 1930 Federal Census, ED #51, page 7B, records Joseph R. (58) and Carrie W. (49-VA) Daughtrey with sons Joseph P. (17) and John P. (10) living at 354 West 13th Street in Norfolk, Va. Joseph has been married 21 years and is a clerk in a grocery store. Current maps indicate that part of town has been redeveloped but is near De Bree Ave.
Ola Daughtrey writes to Ethel Daughtrey Ellis ca 1972 that her brother "Joseph Randolph Daughtrey died Feb. 28, 1955." Note: Death Certificate indicates DOD as March 7, 1955.
