(29) Byrd with children Marvin (8), Gracy (6), and Clarisse (2 2/12). Also in the household is Elcaney's widowed mother, Francis Byrd (62) and nieces Mollie (18) and Annie (14) Draper. Lillie B. is listed as having had 5 children of which 3 are still living while Francis has had 7 with 6 still living. Nearby is Uncle Hugh D. Byrd (58) and wife Nannie E. (52).

The WWI Draft Registration Card records Elanak Marshat Byrd with a date of birth as June 5, 1877. He is a farmer living with his wife, Lillie Belle Byrd in Synorsville, VA. His signature looks like Ealank Marshal Byrd. His physical description is short and stout with blue eyes and light hair.

The 1920 Federal Census for Reed Creek, Henry Co., Va., District 117, page 239A/B taken on March 30, 1920 records Marshall E. [Elkanah] (41) and Lillie B. (36) Byrd with children Marvin B. (18), Gertrude M. (16), Mary C. (11), Henry D. (9), John C. (6), Marshall D. (4 6/12), and Lucie E. (1 10/12) on Post Road, Reed Creek. Marshall is a Farmer.
