bullet  General Notes:

Emily C. Daughtrey wrote (ca 1950) that Francis Daughtrey (daughter of Richard and Appenina) "married a Morgan and had children Will, Algernon, and James." After years of researching ancillary Daughtrey lines I believe the "Francis" named by Aunt Emily is possibly the grand daughter of Richard and Appenina and daughter of Richard and Jemima who "went to Georgia in a covered wagon". It is documented that Richard and Jemima went to Georgia and their daughter Francis first married Frederick T. Morgan then Evans W. Morgan. Frederick and Francis had sons named James and Will while Evan and Francis had a son named Algernon. This would fit Aunt Emily's narrative of the Daughtrey family history and be off by a generation. Emily's family story for Francis Daughtrey is about Daughtreys who lived in the area of her home in Nansemond Co., VA and relate individuals born many years before her time so this is a plausible error.

See general notes on her father, Richard Daughtrey, for full discussion (including 1870 and 1880 census records) of Francis' family facts from an email from Margaret McKinney on March 13, 2006 details the Richard Daughtrey family in Georgia (Included is Francis' Obit, Augusta Chronicle dtd Fri 7 Apr 1899):
Bo,
I was born and raised in Portsmouth VA and all my dad's people were from SH Co, VA, IW Co, VA, Nanse Co, VA and Gates, Hertford and NH Co, NC. So I have many ties to the area and I have a brother and lots of cousins still living there. A lot of my relatives married in to the Daughtrey family. One of my cousins there that is active in genealogy has a Daughtrey line and I have worked with her on this as we have been visiting courthouses, etc for over 40 years. Candace Jeffers Smith is connected to this line and she has some pictures of Richard Daughtrey's daughters Frances and Sara as they are her direct ancestors. We have shared a lot of info, but I have had to quit working active on this as my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer in Dec and my Mom has been ill (93 years old) and she died in Portsmouth the 9th of Jan. And as my husband has been doing poorly I still try to answer and share what info I have. I will enjoy hearing from you and anything you may share. I am sending you my files on Richard and Isaac as I happened to live in Martinez GA which is 12 miles from Augusta which is in Richmond Co, GA and I am an active member of the Genealogical society here and have spent many hours doing research here.
Hope this helps .
