The 1830 Federal Census for Martick [Martic] Township, Lancaster Co., PA, page 117 records the widow Martha Hagans, widow (40-49) with 2 daughters: 1 daughter (15-19) [Mary Catherine] and 1 daughter (10-14) [Abigail] and 4 sons as follows: 1 (20-29) [Joshua], 1 (15-19) [Davis], 1 (10-14) [Enoch], and 1 (<5) [Elijah]. Her son George and his family are living next door.
The 1840 Federal Census for Martick [Martic] Township, Lancaster Co., PA records Joshua Hagan as head of household with the following people: 1 male (30-40) [Joshua Hagen], 1 woman (60-70) [his mother Martha], 2 women (15-19) [sisters Mary & Abigail], 1 male (20-29) [Enoch], 1 male (15-19) [Elijah].
